The wallcovering is made in China by craftsmen from plant fibres which are harvested, hand selected, washed, dried and bleached in the sunshine. They are brought together and tied up before being hand woven on ancestral looms. The complete process is done by hand. When the weaving is finished the cloth is paperbacked for easier hanging. The wallcovering is now ready for dyeing. The cold due is applied by brush.
It is clear that due to the use of natural fibres and small scale production methods used by craftsmen, this wallcovering shows irregularities in texture and variations in colour. These factors contribute to the characteristics and decorative charm of these wallcoverings. They are not recommended when an even and regular aspect is required both in colour and texture.
